I run a sponsorship and ads newsletter. Aimed at sellers, want media buyers now. Cut issues to 600 words, killed personal updates. Completion stuck at 40%. No time for two lists. First move?
Aiming at buyers, not sellers. What do I change first?

Before you reposition, what share of your list are sellers? If most signed up for seller content, the completion number won't move until you split the sends. Are you measuring buyers and sellers separately?

Same pattern on my productivity list. I moved to one decision per issue, payoff in line one, then the read. Completion went from 38% to 52% in two months. It won't fix buyer fit, but it fixes the read. If you want the exact format, I made a two-page positioning worksheet I share with clients. Happy to send it. No charge.

Pick the buyer and delete the seller content. You can't serve both. I killed half my course lessons and completion jumped.

I repositioned my newsletter around one question and completion dropped further. The audience I wanted wasn't on my list yet. Test one buyer segment first before you rebuild the whole thing.

Lead with 'buyers' in the subject line. Done.

Tried that. Changed subject line and sender name for eight issues. Opens went up a bit, completions didn't. The list was wrong, not the label.
