Vancouver, running a small productised training business, team of three now. Churn is killing me — clients do the six-week program, get results, then vanish. Everyone tells me it's because I have no niche. But narrowing feels like turning down money when I've got payroll. Anyone actually run the niche experiment and had it move retention? Or is it something else entirely?
Do I need a niche to stop churn?
What a useful answer should help achieve
A clear decision on whether narrowing the offer will actually reduce churn, or whether retention is a delivery problem instead.
Already tried
Stopped taking one-off workshops for anything outside software, tightened the sales call, but the exit still happens at week six.
Constraints and unknowns
Three staff on salary in Vancouver — every offer I cut has to be replaced before I can cut it.
