I run a productised manuscript assessment, and the recurring stall is that authors want to see evidence before committing to the full package. So this month I'm splitting off a paid one-hour structural audit with a written summary, priced separately, that credits against the full job if they go ahead. The idea is that the audit itself is the proof. My worry is it just adds hours to my week without converting.
