I'd been onboarding everyone by hand, personally, which is why I capped at about 30 a month. So I bolted a plain line into the bottom of the welcome note: if this was useful, send it to one person. No incentive, no landing page. It got two forwards out of eleven new subscribers, which is more than my manual notes ever got, and I didn't have to write anything extra. Small, but I'm keeping it and dropping one of my two hand-written touchpoints to pay for the time.
Tested a referral ask in the welcome email — 11 signups, 2 forwards
