Refund & Cancellation Policy
How subscriptions, cancellations, plan changes and refunds work.
Effective 2 July 2026 · Version 1.0 · Gbeya
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how paid subscriptions to Gbeya (“Gbeya”, “we”, “us”) are billed, how you can cancel, and when refunds are available. It applies to subscriptions you buy from us to use gbeya.com and forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. It does not govern payments you, as a Workspace, collect from your own end-customers through the Services — see “End-customer purchases” below.
1. Subscription billing
Gbeya plans (such as Trial, Pro and Business) are billed in advance on a recurring basis via our payment processor, Stripe. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (for example monthly or annually) at the then-current rate, and the payment method on file is charged for the next period. By subscribing you authorise these recurring charges until you cancel.
2. Free trials
Where we offer a free trial, it gives you time-limited access to the Services at no charge. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged for the first paid period. You can cancel at any time during the trial to avoid being charged (see “Cancellation” below).
3. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings in your workspace, or by emailing us at hello@gbeya.com. Cancelling stops all future renewals; it takes effect at the end of your current billing period rather than immediately. You keep access to your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your Workspace reverts to a free or limited tier (or access ends, where no free tier applies). We recommend exporting any data you wish to keep before your paid access ends.
4. Refunds
Except where required by law, fees for the current billing period and for periods already used are generally non-refundable, and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods, unused time, or features you did not use. We may, at our discretion, grant a refund or credit in individual cases — for example on account of a genuine billing error or a material service failure. To request a refund, contact us at hello@gbeya.com with your account details and the reason for your request; we will review it in good faith.
5. Consumer cooling-off rights
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may have a statutory right to cancel certain online purchases within 14 days without giving a reason. However, where you ask us to begin providing the Services, start a subscription or access digital services immediately, you expressly consent to us starting performance during the cancellation period and acknowledge that you will lose the 14-day right to cancel in respect of services that have been fully supplied. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.
6. Plan changes
You can change your plan at any time from your workspace billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately, and where applicable we charge a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period based on the difference in price. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep the higher-tier features until then and are not charged the lower rate until your next renewal. We do not provide refunds for downgrades except as set out in this policy or as required by law.
7. Taxes
Prices may be exclusive of taxes such as VAT or sales tax, which are added where applicable. Any taxes, duties or levies charged on your subscription are non-refundable where applicable, even where the underlying fee is refunded, except to the extent we are required to refund them by law.
8. Chargebacks
If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us first at hello@gbeya.com so we can help resolve it quickly. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider instead of contacting us may lead us to suspend your account and Workspace while we investigate. Where a chargeback is found to be unjustified, we reserve the right to recover the disputed amount and any associated fees.
9. End-customer purchases
Creators use Gbeya to sell to their own audiences — for example bookings, courses, tips and store purchases. Payments that a Workspace collects from its own end-customers through the Services are contracts between that Workspace and its customer. For those transactions Gbeya is not the merchant of record and does not process refunds or cancellations. If you are an end-customer seeking a refund for a booking, course, tip or store purchase, please contact the relevant Workspace (the creator or business) you bought from directly, as their own refund terms apply. This policy covers only subscriptions you buy from Gbeya.
10. How to request a refund or get help
For any question about billing, cancellations or refunds under this policy, contact us at hello@gbeya.com. Please include your account or Workspace details and a description of your request so we can assist you promptly.
